GK – Simon Mignolet: The general consensus is that since Mignolet’s transfer to Liverpool in the Summer he’s been good, but not great. You can safely slide his rating up to great now after a class performance against Everton.
RB – Geoff Cameron: Anyone who’s first name is Geoff is a winner in our book. Cameron was solid in defence for Stoke’s clean sheet and also provided a good attacking outlet down the right flank. Good job Cameron (in an American accent).
CB – Per Mertesacker: One of FootballDons mates tweeted before the England Germany game that Mertesacker, and we quote “will get ripped apart by our pace”. We find it sad that people still can’t see that he really is one of the best defenders in the league, his brilliant reading of the game makes up for his lack of pace.
CB – Danny Gabbidon: We can’t believe we’ve never inserted a Gabbi-DON related pun before. Shame on us.
LB – Ben Davies: Davies was class in Swansea’s victory against Fulham. Davies is the kind of left back managers love; solid at the back and overlapping all day long.
RM – Jesus Navas: Sweet Jesus how good was Navas on Sunday? It was like he was sent from God. As our Dad said during the game – “Holy sh*t he’s quick”. We’ll stop with the religious puns now.
CM – Frank Lampard: Super Super Frank, Super Super Frank, Super Super Frank, Super Frankie Lampard. We saw one West Ham fan mention on Twitter that Lampard was disrespectful celebrating against his old team. We reckon after 13 years you have permission to celebrate against a former employer.
LM – Oscar: Ok, we realise this 4-3-3 formation we’ve gone for is dirty. But who cares? Oscar was back to his best against West Ham after being a little quiet the two games previous. Maybe Mourinho does know what he’s doing..
STR – Luis Suarez: This front three we’ve chosen is just plain scary. Suarez was class again. Same old story. He’s been included in so many of our team of the week’s, that we’ve actually ran out of positive things to say. Just an unreal player.
STR – Romelu Lukaku: Lukaku’s 2nd brought back memories of Drogba in the Champions league final. The power, the precision of header, the timing. Delicious.
STR – Sergio Aguero: Similar to Suarez, we’re running out of Superlatives to describe this guy. For us, the third best player in the World right now. #bigshout. FootballDons Don of the week.
